Virtual Collaboration

Virtual Collaboration: the ability to work productively, drive engagement, and demonstrate presence as a member of a virtual team.

Digital Presence and Strategic Persuasion

In this seminar, based on theories of persuasion and narrative, students used the language of new media to present their academic and professional identities. Students read and discussed relevant theoretical works, explored industry trends in light of appropriate fields of study, practiced articulating academic and work experiences as preparation for careers, learned to present ideas through traditional and new media means, and left with a polished, rich, e-portfolio that presents their professional identity in ways consistent with the research on persuasion and digital narrative. The course combined theory and practice and focused on integrating an understanding of communication with the ability to create effective messages about yourself and your expertise.
